Agenesis of Pericardium (congenital Absence of it)

Surpising intraopearative finding during left thoracocotomy through the bed of the 6th rib (i.e. the 5th intespace) in a 27-yo male smoker's case.

The thoracotomy was undertaken for resection of a mediastinal bronchogenic cyst.

The cyst was abutting the conus arteriosus or pulmonary trunk and measuring 5 x 4.5 x 3.5 cm.
